3) Get a copy of your Schools Calendar for Holidays and Special Testing Days

4) Review School Policies and Dress Codes with your child


5) Fill out emergency contact forms


6) Get your child the required immunizations

The usual requirements are a physical exam performed within the last year; As well as Immunizations for MMR, DTP, Polio, Hepatitis and Chicken Pox. (A booster for Tdap is required for new 6th grade students)


7) Stock up on school supplies

8) Get your child familiar with how to get to and from school

*Get familiar with the bus schedule and location of the bus stop

*If walking or biking to school, do a practice run to get your child familiar with the route

*If car pooling, become familiar with the scheduled pick up times and days 


9) Tour the school with your child so they can get familiar with the layout

Locate your child's classrooms, the cafeteria, restrooms, locker, and any other points of interest
